Wallet Connection Issues
If your wallet will not connect to Cognivo, it is usually because the wallet is locked, a connection dialog was blocked, or the browser needs a refresh. Work through the steps below in order.
Make Sure Your Wallet Is Ready
- Confirm your wallet application or browser extension is installed.
- Unlock the wallet before you try to connect. A locked wallet cannot approve a connection.
- If your wallet lets you pick which account is active, select the account you want to use first.
The Connection Dialog Does Not Appear
When you start a connection, your wallet normally opens a pop-up asking you to approve it. If nothing appears:
- Check your pop-up blocker. Wallet approval dialogs are sometimes blocked. Allow pop-ups for the page and try again.
- Look for the wallet window or extension icon - the request may be waiting there for you to approve.
- Refresh the page and start the connection again.
The Connection Hangs or Fails
- Refresh the page and retry the connection.
- Close and reopen your wallet, then try connecting again.
- Retry the request. A connection that stalls once often succeeds on a second attempt.
- Try a different supported browser. Some browsers handle wallet connections differently, so switching can resolve a stubborn problem.
After Connecting
- Approve any signature request your wallet shows to finish signing in. This proves you control the wallet - no password is created or stored.
- If you approved the request but nothing happened, refresh the page. The connection is often already in place.
Notes
- Only approve connection and signature requests you started yourself. If a request appears that you did not expect, decline it.
- Keeping your wallet application up to date avoids many connection problems.
