Link Telegram
What Link Telegram does
Link Telegram connects your Telegram account to your Cognivo account. Once it is connected, the Cognivo bot can send your private alerts straight to your Telegram chat instead of leaving them only in the dApp.
When to use it
Use it when you do not want to keep the dApp open to find out that a wallet you watch has moved, or that a liquidity lock is about to unlock. Link Telegram once and your alerts follow you to your phone.
Where to find it
In the dApp sidebar, open the Account section and select Link Telegram. The page is titled Link Telegram.
- Look at the Telegram status card, the Connected badge beside your handle means Cognivo can send your private alerts to Telegram.
- Select Unlink Telegram to stop those alerts, you can connect again at any time.
Starting the link
The link always starts in Telegram, not in the dApp. Open the Cognivo bot on Telegram, @CognivoAIBot, and send the link command. The bot replies with a link that opens this page and carries a one time link code.
When you arrive with a code and you are signed in, a Connect your Telegram card appears. It shows the first and last characters of the code next to Link code, so you can check it matches the one the bot gave you. Select Confirm and link to finish.
If you open this page without a code, Cognivo tells you plainly that you need to start the link from the bot. There is no way to type a code in by hand.
What to expect back
The Telegram status card is the honest answer to "is this connected or not".
- Connected with your Telegram handle beside it means alerts can be delivered to Telegram.
- Not connected means no Telegram account is bound to this Cognivo account yet.
- Checking your Telegram status means Cognivo is still reading the status. If that read fails, the page keeps showing the last status it knew rather than flipping you to Not connected, so a brief network problem does not look like a broken link.
After a successful link you see "Your Telegram is now connected. Cognivo will send your alerts there."
Two errors are normal and neither means something is wrong with your account:
- This link has expired. The code is only good for a short time. Send the link command to the bot again.
- This link is not valid. The address you opened does not carry a real Cognivo link code. Start again from the bot.
If you are signed out, the page asks you to sign in and offers a Continue from chat button.
Unlinking
Select Unlink Telegram to stop Cognivo alerts on Telegram. You can connect again at any time. Your alert rules and watch profiles stay as they are, and alerts keep arriving on your other channels in the dApp.
Cost
Linking, unlinking and receiving alerts on Telegram are free. No credits are spent on this page, and no confirmation for a charge will ever appear here.
Limitations and safety
- Alerts cannot reach Telegram until this link exists. Until then, the Telegram side of your alert delivery has nowhere to send anything.
- The link is per account. Connecting a Telegram account here binds it to the Cognivo account you are signed into.
- Link codes expire, so finish the confirmation soon after the bot sends you the link.
- Cognivo never asks for your wallet keys or seed phrase here. Linking only connects your Telegram for alerts. Anything that asks you for a seed phrase in the name of Cognivo is not Cognivo.
