Tracing a Wallet

Trace Wallet starts a fund-flow trace from inside Cognivo Chat and links you to the interactive in Wallet Tracer.

What It Does​

When you ask Cognivo to trace an address, this tool follows the flow of funds around it and builds a visual trace. Instead of returning raw data in the chat, it generates a direct link to the Bubble Map result, where you can explore how the money moved.

When to Use It​

  • You want to see where funds went from an address, or where they came from
  • You want a visual map of the addresses connected to a wallet
  • You are following a specific movement of funds across multiple hops

What You Need​

The wallet or contract address - a 42-character string starting with 0x. You can also say which direction to follow the funds (outgoing, incoming, or both) and which network to use.

How to Use It​

Ask in natural language inside Cognivo Chat, with no commands. For example:

Trace this wallet: 0x... on Ethereum

Trace outgoing transactions from 0x...

Show me where the funds in 0x... came from

Cognivo runs the trace and returns a link to the result. If you do not specify a direction, Cognivo picks the most appropriate one for your question.

Supported Networks​

  • Ethereum
  • Base
  • BNB Chain

Deep fund-flow tracing is focused on Ethereum, where the most complete multi-hop detail is available. Traces on other networks may return a more limited view, and Cognivo will tell you when that is the case.

Cost and Confirmation​

A Deep Trace costs 25 credits and is confirmation-gated. Because of the higher cost, Cognivo asks you to confirm before it runs, so you are never charged without agreeing first. Signed-in accounts also receive free daily traces as part of their daily credit allowance.

What the Result Shows​

A link that opens the trace in Wallet Tracer. There you get an interactive Bubble Map of the addresses and transactions involved, along with tabs that break the same data down in different ways. You can explore the map and return to Chat when you are done.

Limitations​

  • Deep, multi-hop tracing is strongest on Ethereum.
  • The trace direction and depth are set when the trace is created. To change them, start a new trace.
