Entering a Wallet Address
Every trace in Wallet Tracer starts with an Ethereum address. This is the address you want to investigate — the starting point from which Cognivo follows fund flows.
How to Start a Trace
- Go to dapp.cognivolabs.io
- Paste or type an Ethereum address into the address field
- Choose a trace direction
- Click Start Trace
Cognivo begins processing the trace immediately. You will be taken to the trace page, where the Bubble Map builds as results come in. Depending on the address activity, this typically takes a few seconds to a minute.
What Counts as a Valid Address
Wallet Tracer accepts standard Ethereum addresses — a 42-character string starting with 0x, for example:
0xd8dA6BF26964aF9D7eEd9e03E53415D37aA96045
Both uppercase and lowercase hex characters are accepted. The address does not need to be checksummed.
Smart contract addresses are also valid starting points — not just wallet addresses.
What Happens If the Address Is Invalid
If the address is not a valid Ethereum format, the input field will show a validation error and the trace will not start. Check that you have the full address (42 characters, starting with 0x) before trying again.
Tracing from Chat
You can also start a trace without visiting Wallet Tracer directly. Ask the AI in Cognivo Chat to trace any address, and it will run the trace and send you a link to the result. See Starting a Trace from Chat.
Credits
Each trace consumes credits. Free accounts receive 10 credits per day. See Credits & Billing for details.
