Browsing Prompts
The Prompts Dashboard is a dedicated section in Cognivo Chat for exploring and using saved prompt templates. Prompts are private by default unless explicitly shared.
Accessing the Prompts Dashboard
The Prompts Dashboard is accessible from the main navigation in Cognivo Chat. Users without the required access permissions are automatically redirected.
Layout
The dashboard uses a two-panel layout:
- Left panel — a filterable list of prompt groups. Each group has a name and an optional category icon.
- Right panel — the detail view for the selected prompt group, including the prompt text and its variables.
On smaller screens, the left panel collapses when viewing a prompt's detail. Use the toggle to switch between the list and detail view.
Reading a Prompt
Select a prompt group from the left panel to open its detail view. The right panel shows:
- Name — the group title
- Category — shown as an icon if a category is set
- Prompt text — the active version of the prompt with full formatting
- Variables — any
{{variable_name}}placeholders in the prompt text, listed below the prompt
Using a Prompt
Select a prompt group from the list and review its text in the detail view. Use the prompt to start or guide a conversation. Variables in the text indicate where you supply specific values for each use.
