Searching Conversations

The search bar lets you find any past conversation by its content. Instead of scrolling through the date-grouped sidebar, type a few words and the matching conversations appear immediately.

The search bar is at the top of the left sidebar.

  1. Click the search bar and start typing.
  2. Results update as you type — there is a brief pause before each refresh.
  3. Matching conversations appear on a dedicated search page, not as an inline dropdown.
  4. Click any result to open that conversation.

To clear the search and return to the full conversation list, click the X button in the search bar or delete all text.

What Gets Searched​

Search covers message content across your conversations — not only conversation titles.

When the search bar is empty, conversations are grouped by date in the sidebar:

  • Today
  • Yesterday
  • Past 7 Days
  • Older entries grouped by month

Archived Conversations​

Archived conversations are not included in search results. To find an archived conversation:

  1. Open Settings (click your user name at the bottom of the left sidebar → Settings)
  2. Go to the General tab
  3. Scroll to Archived Chats and search there
